Dream Catcher is the second collaboration between the artist and composer Thierry De Mey and Shizuka Hariu / SHSH Architecture + Scenography.

It is a 35m long installation that consists of 1130 bamboo poles hung in the air by thin metal cables.  The visitors can follow along the line of bamboo poles, creating various sounds and movement.

De Mey has been producing traces of movements for choreographers such as Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and others. His comprehensive knowledge in choreography traces creates complex graphical patterns.

Inspired by his traces, new line designs were created in two-dimensional and three-dimensional form.  SHSH has interpreted five long trace lines, turning them into 3D-models that were applied into the gallery spaces.

We have researched materials and also examined the process of producing this complex installation. As a result, it has created a space for the activities between sound and movement, that have been a long term interest of Thierry De Mey.
